Reflexology.

Reflexology has been around for thousands of years dating back to Chinese, Egyptian and Indian civilisations. It is believed that the organs and systems within the body are mapped out on the hands, feet and face.

When pressure is applied to these points, homeostasis is encouraged between these systems. In a good state of balance the body is in a stronger position to focus on areas in need of more attention and this is supported through natural healing processes.

Techniques may need to be adapted depending on your concerns and health status. Even if there are no health concerns to be addressed, reflexology can be incredibly relaxing and requires very little preparation, therefore is very accessible to many people.

Reflexology can be beneficial in supporting health concerns but is not intended to be used as an alternative to medical treatment, diagnoses or cure.

Massage.

Similarly to reflexology, massage has been around for thousands of years. It is a treatment that promotes physical wellbeing - as it improves blood and lymph circulation to the area being massaged. This results in the area receiving oxygen and nourishment while encouraging waste products to be removed.

There are many studies that promote the immune-enhancing effects of massage and we must not ignore the beneficial effects on mental and emotional health. There is no doubt that massage will have a very soothing and comforting effect on your health.

Aromatherapy.

Aromatherapy is another form of complementary therapy that utilizes the use of essential oils within a holistic treatment. Essential oils are gently extracted from all parts of plants and preserved in small dark glass bottles. These oils can be tailored to the individual’s own requirements once concerns have been identified in an initial consultation. Aromatherapy can be used alongside other therapies such as Reflexology, Massage, and Acupuncture as well as orthodox medicine.

Methods of use include massage, diffusion, aroma sticks, and bath oils. Aromatherapy is particularly beneficial for reducing stress-related conditions, treating a variety of chronic inflammatory conditions, or simply just for relaxation.

As with all complementary therapies, Aromatherapy is not intended to replace medical treatment.
